This is a podcast for people like us—young and curious, while trying to figure out what’s next. We’re trying to make sense of the world, understand how things work, and decide where we'll fit in. I know it does feel overwhelming sometimes. A great example on this is making a decision on what to study in college, and what career to choose, or how to actually make a difference.
So, where do we start? Let’s begin by understanding how Puerto Rico works: our government. This podcast is about learning from the people who help run it—regulators, leaders, and change makers or rebel disruptors—to figure out where we are, what needs to change, and how to step up.
We’ll break down the big questions:
- What’s the state of Puerto Rico right now?
- What do we need to focus on for the future?
- How can we take ideas and turn them into action?
These are all honest conversations and understanding the challenges and opportunities ahead. While learning from those before us to determine how to take over and do things better.
I’m 16 years old, going through the chaos of being a teenager and the pressure of figuring out what to do next. I’ve always had many questions without asking them publicly, so doing this is a good way to learn about myself and my own questions and answers—big questions about the world, the future, and where I fit in. I’m an introverted person with a lot on my mind. Like most people my age in 10th, I'm trying to balance school, friends, and the rollercoaster of teenagers. On top of all that, I’m starting to think about what I want to do as an adult.
Sometimes i think to myself, what will my contribution be? Where am I needed? I have no idea, How can I find a way to do something meaningful, make great money, while still having balance in my life? I have no idea.
I don’t have the answers yet, but that’s why I started this journey. I want to learn, explore, and figure out how to create an impact that feels true to me. This is my space to dive into the big questions, connect with others, and start carving out a path toward something bigger—a huge challenge for me.
Let's be honest with ourselves and admit that our young minds are not similar to anyone else's. It helps us process information quickly, and get bored even faster, and only wanting the important stuff. This site is here to tell you what is happening in Puerto Rico and get the facts from experts.
There has been so much drama lately that it's insane and confusing all over the place, and even exhausting sometimes, I feel like we're in a bubble, but we're not; when I have my mom and family members right there, I can see them working hard, trying to do something for our island. I have so many questions because I can see it. I feel weird just thinking that I'll be an adult soon. It feels like it's not going to happen, but it will. I'm excited about having my driver's license soon and having a car if I can earn it, but what about the real world out there? It looks like a human JUNGLE to me. I know... I generally like politics and government, while I am silent, introverted, and internally opinionated. I really need to understand what is going on in that concrete jungle out there; I don't know you, but... it looks a little intimidating to me, so let's learn from the older generations and how others do things and work like them.
I am here to get the experts' view on the significant issues, such as:
What is going on in the world today?
What is wrong, and how can we solve it?
Where do we stand, and how can we even make a change?
Let's start!!
Coming soon... impressive learning experience, i have realized there are great leaders out there without visibility...
Wait to see his high impact projects through our podcast.
All my questions and more were answered- Thank you Commissioner...CFSV
Meet Alexander S. Adams Vega—a quiet guy making big moves! He's Puerto Rico's Insurance Commissioner, which means he's in charge of making sure all the insurance in Puerto Rico works smoothly. He's been doing this since December 2021, but his story started way before that.
Before running the show, Adams Vega spent over 10 years mastering insurance, from how companies stay financially strong to ensuring healthcare plans and property insurance are fair. He's the kind of leader who doesn't need to be loud to make a significant impact—he gets stuff done.
Fun fact: his first job was at the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico. Yep, he started his career in one of the most critical places in Puerto Rico- He's got a law degree and a master's in public administration from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico, plus a bachelor's in political science from UPR Mayaguez. In other words, he's super bright and knows his stuff.
When I interviewed him for "On the Hill Show," I didn't expect to learn as much about him as I did. He didn't say he's an introvert, but I could tell. The way he's quietly disrupting the insurance industry and leading with focus and purpose is precisely what makes him such a standout. And when he talks, man, he talks. He's not just dropping knowledge—he's connecting, teaching, and inspiring all at once.
This conversation was more than just an interview—it was a masterclass in how introverts can lead, innovate, and succeed in their own way. Alexander S. Adams Vega is proof that even the visually quietest calmed voices can create real change, and I'm so proud to have had him as my first guest on "On the Hill Show." I love this guy!!
